I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. I believe in the Holy Spirit...the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

As Episcopalians, we believe in a loving, liberating, and life-giving God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As constituent members of the Anglican Communion in the United States, we are descendants of and partners with the Church of England and the Scottish Episcopal Church, and are part of the third largest group of Christians in the world.

We believe in following the teachings of Jesus Christ, whose life, death, and resurrection saved the world.

We have a legacy of inclusion, aspiring to tell and exemplify God’s love for every human being; women and men serve as bishops, priests, and deacons in our church. Laypeople and clergy cooperate as leaders at all levels of our church. Leadership is a gift from God, and can be expressed by all people in our church, regardless of sexual identity or orientation.

We believe that God loves you – no exceptions.

Will you seek to serve Christ in all persons, loving your neighbor as yourself?

I will, with God’s help.

Welcome Statement

You are welcome at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church! All that you are, and wherever you are on your faith journey,
let us share God’s love together.

St. Peter’s is a community of people from all walks of life, sharing a broad variety of experiences. Our welcome knows no bounds! We celebrate and affirm you as you are - your age, race, ethnicity, culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical or mental ability, or economic condition. We worship and serve with individuals and families of all sorts, and we offer the Good News of the Gospel to seekers from every spiritual tradition.

As a parish of the Diocese of New Jersey, the Episcopal Church, and the global Anglican Communion, we are fully sacramental and ever-reforming. For over 325 years, we have been committed to serving the Freehold area by offering inspiring worship, engaging Christian formation for every age, and meaningful outreach to our neighbors.

We are called to honor our baptismal vows, to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being”. As a community that lives our faith, we are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in thought, word, and deed.

Wherever people gather, in person or through online communities, we seek to offer welcome, grace, and God’s Good News for a wounded world. We hope this website will serve as a resource for your own growth in faith as well as a connection with our community, in person or online.
