Serving Others at St. Peter’s

As we live out our faith in Freehold and in our greater community, we practice “servant leadership.” In serving alongside each other in worship and community, we come together as a family of faith. In reaching out beyond our church walls to help meet the needs of our local community, we offer Christ’s hands and hearts to the world. This outreach ministry, in which we live out our faith in love of God and of our neighbors, is at the heart of our St. Peter’s community.

Serving our Community

Outreach Ministry

The last two promises of the Baptismal Covenant form the heart of our outreach and community ministries at St. Peter’s. Indeed, these ministries are very important to our members as well for fellowship and an opportunity to connect our faith with the world around us as we engage both the local and global communities.

Empowering Change

St. Peter’s Thrift Shop

The St. Peter's Thrift Shop is a thriving retail store featuring quality, gently-used items for sale at low prices. As a social justice ministry, the Thrift Shop helps people of all incomes shop with dignity. Proceeds from the Thrift Shop play a major role in supporting the many ministries St. Peter's offers to the greater Freehold community.

What is the ministry of the laity?

The ministry of lay persons is to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be; and, according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world; and to take their place in the life, worship, and governance of the Church.
