A Lifetime of Generosity

“For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.”
— Romans 12:4-5

New Members or Those Pledging for the First Time

If you are relatively new to a congregational community, you may want to learn a little more about pledging before making a financial commitment. You may also be surprised to learn that we are wholly dependent on generous giving to fund our ministries and pay our bills! No one likes to talk about money, but we are called to share our resources, whatever they may be, with God and in service to God’s people in our community. If you’re considering pledging for the first time, know that your commitment helps us plan for and maximize our impact in the community.

Families with Children & Teenagers

Families, especially those with young children, have very full plates! Schedules are often hectic, and the pressure to meet all sorts of expectations can be overwhelming. As children get older, looming costs rise higher. Committing to ongoing donations or regular participation can feel unreasonable. Know that we walk with you in this season, and we’re happy to see you whenever, and however, it works for your family. Regular participation in worship and ministry has a lasting positive effect on children. Every one, no matter how young, has gifts to offer others, and we welcome you to explore those with us.

Those in a Season of Financial Insecurity

It is no secret that we are in an era of financial insecurity for many people. Daily economic struggles are a reality. We will never ask you to give money that you need elsewhere, especially for basic needs of shelter, food, and healthcare. In a season such as this, some have found reassurance in sharing even a small amount, as we pool resources to help all those in need in our community to share the Gospel message of salvation and hope. Others have been able to faithfully give more of their time and talent, which is profoundly generous. Our stewardship of St. Peter’s reflects faith, gratitude, and a heart of giving that is not tied to an expected dollar amount.

Those with Room to Grow in Giving

As we move through the seasons of life, our circumstances change, both financially and in regards to our ability to be present in ministry. Employment opportunities may increase, and family responsibilities ebb and flow as children (and parents) age. Perhaps you are coming out of a tighter season, and you have room to grow in your commitment to the ministries and community of St. Peter’s. Spend some time learning more about the impacts we are making here in Freehold, and consider increasing your financial and/or personal presence commitment in this season.

Those in a Season of Financial Comfort

If you have been blessed with financial comfort and security, we invite you to consider including St. Peter’s in your giving plans. Your generosity provides a secure foundation for our continued presence in this place, in worship and ministry. With your help, we can grow deeper in faith, reach those in need in our community, and take the love of the Gospel further than ever before. There are many options for sustained giving, including a new planned giving initiative. Gifts of time, expertise, and participation in the leadership of St. Peter’s are also generous and appreciated offerings. If you are interested in connecting with a ministry or exploring leadership on Vestry or the Finance Committee, please speak with a Warden (Candy or Lynne) or a staff member to get connected.

“We don’t possess our own lives. We are stewards of the life that God has given us, and for however long God continues to give us breath. Our life is not about hoarding or about conserving life for its own sake but its opposite: about giving. Our life is about our willingly giving up our life and our life’s energies following the example we see in Christ’s own self-emptying.”
— Brother Curtis Almquist, SSJE
