Spring at St. Peter’s
Spring marks the beginning of a new church year at St. Peter’s, and the opportunity to grow closer to God. As Lent begins in early March on Ash Wednesday, we offer a variety of Lenten resources to support you in this season of prayer and sacrifice. Lent culminates in Holy Week: we welcome Jesus on Palm Sunday (April 13), and walk with him in the journey to the cross. Services on Maundy Thursday (April 17) and Good Friday (April 18) mark the solemn days of the Triduum. We welcome the new fire at Easter Vigil (7:30 pm on April 19), and celebrate the risen Christ on Easter Sunday (April 20).
Easter is not just a day, but a season of 50 days! We continue our “Alleluias” throughout May, also recognizing Mother’s Day (May 11) and Memorial Day (May 26) in our prayers and thanksgivings. On June 8, we welcome the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. June 15 marks Trinity Sunday, when we also celebrate our graduates on Baccalaureate Sunday as well as Father’s Day.
In addition to our onsite and online worship on Sundays and throughout the week, we invite you to grow in faith with us in this season. We also continue to offer ministry in and with our community in Freehold, with Community Suppers on the 2nd and 4th Friday evenings at 5:30 pm, and through the ministries of the Thrift Store in the adjacent Keith Building. St. Peter’s Lunch Program serves over 600 meals every Wednesday and Thursday. Volunteers and food donations are always welcome. Visit the Lunch Program Sign-Up Genius to see how you can help.
