Special Services
Several times each year, special services are offered according to the needs of the parish. Recently, these services have included:

The Blessing of the Animals
On the Saturday closest to St. Francis' Day (this year October 2), we acknowledge God's loving care for all creatures with a simple service of prayer, and scripture reading. Families bring their pets of all kinds -- carefully crated or leashed -- for a joyful gathering that concludes with a blessing for each individual animal.

Blue Christmas
For some folks, especially those who are experiencing a sense of loss -- the death of a loved one, unemployment, declining health, loneliness -- the Christmas season can be a painful and difficult time of year. One weeknight in December, St. Peter's offers a time of prayer, Bible readings, and a simple service of Holy Communion for those who are seeking hope, consolation, or encouragement. The Blue Christmas service is designed to help anyone who is struggling to find support, help, and strength to face a busy and emotionally demanding season.

Monthly services at Hudson Manor
On the last Thursday of each month, a simple service of Holy Communion is offered at Hudson Manor, a local senior residence in Freehold. In December the service is followed by a Christmas party with carol singing, a gift exchange, and refreshments hosted by youth and adults from the Church.
