Here’s a brief listing of the music ministries that St. Peter’s offers:

St. Peter’s Choir has had a very long history of providing music at our church. It is open to all singers high school age and up. No audition or previous experience is necessary. This is primarily a volunteer group with three paid soloists/section leaders. The choir sings at the 11:00 AM service on Sundays. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings at 8 PM in the choir room. The choir also warms up on Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM. The choir sings 60-70 anthems each year, covering many centuries of compositional styles.

King’s Peal is our outstanding handbell choir for anyone high school age and older. No audition or previous experience is necessary. The choir plays at both the 9 AM and 11 AM services about once a month. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary.

Peter’s Rock is our resident worship band. After their successful debut in 2004 for our annual tent revival, the members decided to continue the ministry throughout the year. The band is made up of instrumentalists and vocalists who provide a more contemporary style of music. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary. The band provides music once monthly at the 9 AM service and at the monthly Healing And Thanksgiving service (a.k.a. “the HeAT service”).

Musician’s Workshop is an interactive musical experience intended for the youngest members of St. Peter’s (K-3rd grade). They meet in Classroom A on Sunday mornings from 8:30-8:55 AM, where they learn basic elements of musicianship as well as fundamental aspects of Episcopalian worship. They participate in the 9 AM service several times yearly in addition to major holidays.

The Bellissima Ringers is our junior handbell choir, intended for 4th-8th graders. Bell ringing technique and musical concepts such as rhythm and notation are further explored in this group. They provide music at both the 9 AM and 11 AM services several times yearly and at all major holidays. No audition or previous experience is necessary. Rehearsals are in the sanctuary on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:15 PM.

The Jubilation Choir is the junior choir, intended for 4th-8th graders. More advanced musical concepts are taught while basic choral vocal technique is reinforced. They provide music monthly at both the 9 AM and 11 AM services. No audition or previous experience is necessary. Rehearsals are in the choir room on Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:00 PM.
